My Little Bird Dog

I just wanted to share with everyone that Roxy is offically a bird dog. On Saturday morning, Roxy caught a bird in her mouth. I am not exactly sure how it happened but i let her outside in the backyard, that is fenced in, and usually she just runs after the birds and they fly away. Unfortunitly she somehow cornered one and caught it right in her mouth. Now if you can imagine this, I had to chase her around the yard, while feathers are flying every where, screaming for her to drop the bird. When i finally did get her, I had to pry open her mouth and shake the poor little bird out. And before anyone asks, No the bird did not make it. So sad! So after the inital shock wore off that she actually caught this bird, i had to dispose of it some how. So i scooped it up with a shovel and a plastic bag and put it in the trash. But before that i did take a picture, which looking back now is a little morbid, but I have to say that part of me is proud of my little bird dog for actually catching the bird. So i wanted to share it with you.

Ummm... real bird dogs aren't supposed to kill the bird. They are supposed to flush it, point at it and/or retrieve a dead one. And despite me repeatedly telling my "bird dogs" that they are not supposed to eat "bird seed" they continue to so.
