Well I have received some heavy hearted news last night from Miles. Shortly after I posted my first message I received a call from him, letting me know that his platoon that he was just assigned to in Kentucky are scheduled to go to Afganistan in December for 12 months. Yes, you are reading this correctly, I said One year. As you can imagine I am a bit broken up about this but I have alot of support from family. I think the hardest part to swallow is to imagine not seeing him for an entire year. Granted we will probably be able to talk on the phone and of course write letters but 12 months is a long time to be away from someone that you love.
My goal is to make the next 7/8 months really special, so I will be moving temporarily down to Virginia for a few months while he is there. I am not sure of dates right now but we will get it all worked out after the wedding, which is only 5 weeks away. I hope I am ready.
Please keep Miles in your thoughts and prayers while he is away.
