Our Virginia Apartment

I thought that you all might want a glimpse at our crack shack here in Virginia. I say "crack shack" because recently we have had a few cockroaches that have decided to move in. So far I have seen three and luckly Miles has been home everytime so that he can kill them for me. But these are not little bugs that are just annoying, these are 3 inch bugs that crawl out of my kitchen sink while I am cooking dinner, as to ask "Hey Babe, what are we having?" I would like to take a picture of one just to show you what I am talking about, but I don't usually stick around long enough to do so.

Other then the bugs, the apartment is okay. I took a few pictures to kind of give the layout, first we have the living room where we spend most of our time, as you can see Miles is taking his Sunday afternoon nap in front of the television.

Then we have the lovely dining room/office. Now you have to remember all this furniture is rented so that is why is looks alittle bare. Then we have the kitchen where I perpare all of Miles gourment meals. Miles is like a teenage boy, because he has to eat every few hours. I swear his appeitite will be the reason that we never have any money. I try to make enough food that I think would serve at least 4 people, like I will make 4 cheeseburgers and I eat one and Miles will eat 3 and then an hour later is asking me to make him a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. :)

Then we have the bedroom, nothing special but we have a huge walk in closet with built in shelves. Makes me wish that I had brought all my shoes! I guess thats it, this is probably not very exciting, but this is where we are living for the next 2 months, and to be honest I can not wait to move out of here. Miles and I will be leaving here on September 28th to our new home in Kentucky, where we will be for the next 2 years. We decided that we will live on base, cross your fingers for me that there are no cockroaches!

Love your "crack shack"! Totally laughing out loud at your post. Never had a cockroach problem, but had a major mouse problem at our first apartment. Cleaning out the traps several times a day problem. Nothing like having guests over and hearing that Snap/Squeak sound. Dom and I would look at each other "I didn't hear anything did you???" We also had a flying squirrels in our attic. Flying squirrels are nocturnal and apparently have loud parties with all their little squirrel friends all night long. One got into the house in the middle of the night one night, as we were trying to shoo it out the door it goes flying across the room...yeah good times...good times...
