Busch Gardens

Miles and I decided that it was time to visit Busch Gardens. Some of you that know me may be asking yourself why I would want to go to this theme park, knowing that I am not a huge fan of roller coasters and that I use to have the worst case of motion sickness. (to many times, I remember throwing up on myself) Well I took one for the team last weekend and we went. Miles wanted so badly to go on the new roller coaster "The Griffon" which includes several loops and a 90 degree drop. Its kind of hard to tell from the picture but it is the scariest thing I have ever seen. Unfortunitly Miles did not get a chance to go on it because the wait for the ride was over and hour long all day long. And knowing that I would not go on it, he did not want to spend and hour in line by himself. Which I don't blame him.

So we did go on some of the other type of rides. I really like the water rides myself, and because he is such a good sport he went on all of those with me, even though he got soaked, and I stayed basically dry.

We also went on my old stand by favorite carnival ride "The Scrambler", which always reminds me of the "Hillsboro-Balloon Festival Fair" or whatever it's called. My oldest and dearest friend Julie and I would ride this ride about 10 times ever year.

Even though we did not go on any coasters we had a really great day. We had lunch at "Des Festhaus", which was really tasty with all your favorite german foods, like brats, ribs, and chicken, and of course cabbage. And because it Busch Gardens is owned by Anheuser-Busch, we did par-take in a couple beers. So after spending about 6 1/2 hours at the park and trying to walk off most of our lunch, we called it a day and headed home.

Sounds like you had a great time.Wish I had been there. I too do not like roller coasters and have never been on one and don't plan on being on one.The water rides looked like fun, that's my kind of speed.

your comment about the Hillsboro carnie and the scrambler brought a smile to my face, I rode the same ride over and over again there myself back in the day... now if I even ride the tea cups with Kailtyn I almost get sick ;)

Looks like fun. Becca tends to get seasick on the boat if it gets too rough, guess it runs in the family!
